Uganda Revenue Authority Commissioner General, Ms Allen Kagina has announced that she is quitting the tax body to do private business.
Ms Kagina told the Parliament’s Finance Committee on Wednesday that since her contract expires in October, she is going to retire and do other things.
“URA is going to get a new Commissioner General,” Ms Kagina said. “Am retiring, am going into the private sector. My contract ends in October and government will get another person to head the organization.”
She said after spending a decade as URA boss, she has nurtured competent people, who can ably replace her. However, when asked that if the appointing authority so wished to appoint her to another organization, she said with a beaming smile: “am here to serve.”
