Kampala businessman Karim Hirji has Monday reported at Jinja Road Police Station where he is being interrogated over alleged ghost workshops organised by government ministries at his Imperial Royale Hotel in Kampala.

Sources say, the hotelier is expected to explain his role in the alleged scam that caused financial loss to the government.

The workshops were allegedly organised by the health ministry and the ministry of works.

Among other questionable workshops, the businessman is expected to explain how Sh140m was spent on ghost workshop allegedly held at the hotel on November 9, 2011 by the ministry of health.
