KAMPALA. Court has further remanded Ms Sarah Nabikolo Sebunya, the widow to the late city businessman Eriya Bugembe Sebunya popularly known as Kasiwukira to Luzira prison in connection to his murder.
Makindye Grade One Magistrate George Watyekere on Monday further remanded Ms Nabikolo to Luzira prison after the state prosecutor Ms Beatrice Akello informed court that investigations into the murder case were still going on.
Accordingly, the magistrate remanded Kasiwukira’s widow till January 13 when she will return to court for mention of the case.
She appeared in court alongside her sister Ms Sandra Nakungu, 34 and a police officer attached to Muyenga Community Police station Jaden Ashraf, 38.
The trio was first charged with murder on December 8 before being remanded to Luzira prison.
The court did not allow them to plead to the charges as they were capital in nature only triable by the High Court.
Prosecution alleges that the trio and others still at large on October 17, 2014 at Muyenga Diplomate Zone, murdered Mr Kasiwukira.
Mr Kasiwukira was knocked dead by a speeding car while he was jogging along the road in the morning of October 17 near his home in Muyenga, one of Kampala’s posh suburbs.
But the police including the inspector general of police Gen. Kale Kayihura never believed that it was an accident thus ordering for more investigation for a possible murder.
