Kawempe Muslim Secondary School, which has suffered two fire incidents this week, has been closed.

Mr Salim  Nabisa, a  career teacher at the school says  all students except those in candidate classes have been asked to go home as an investigations into the mysterious fire continue.

“We have painfully taken a decision to ask parents take their children home for a week or two and allow investigations into the incident ,” he said by telephone .

Another fire gutted a boy’s dormitory on Wednesday at 7:00 pm, less than a week after a girl’s dormitory caught fire.

The authorities are still tight-lipped about the fire which is said to have started as students reported for evening lessons.

Police managed to put out the fire by the time and no casualties were reported.

Last Sunday, on the eve of the Uganda Certificate of Education examinations, fire gutted one of the girl’s dormitories.

The school is one of the academic giants in the country.
