Four arrested for vandalising electricity pylons

BUIKWE- Police have arrested four people who allegedly vandalised pylons that are used to transmit electricity from Uganda to Rwanda.

Ssezibwa Regional Police Spokesperson, Ms Hellen Butoto said the suspects are detained at Lugazi Police Station as investigations continue.

Plain-clothed officers backed by Flying Squad and Field Force Unit of the Police recovered 27 pieces of metal suspected to be part of the suspects’ loot.

Ms Butoto said the metals were about to be sold as scrap to one of the steel factories in Jinja.
