KAMPALA. Opposition Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) Vice Chairperson for youth Zeridah Kakayi has been found after she disappeared on May 11, a senior party official has said.
Kakayi is said to have gone missing on May11 after attending prayers at Christ the king church in the center of Uganda’s capital, Kampala.
FDC chief mobiliser Ingrid Turinawe at a press briefing held at Najjanakumbi on Monday said.

Kakayi was waylaid by unknown assailants, forcefully bundled into an unidentified Ipsum vehicle before she was drugged and driven to unknown places by her assailants.
Ms Turinawe said Kakayi was then taken to Acholi sub-region in Northern Uganda where she was held for several days in a grass thatched house and tortured.
She was reportedly found dumped at Aswa Bridge that connects Pader and Gulu districts.
Turinawe told the media that Kakyi was admitted at Naguru Hospital but discharged and now moves on crutches after she sustained serious injuries occasioned to her by her assailants.

At the press briefing, FDC officials reiterated the need for the unconditioned release of all FDC members in police cells along with Dr Kizza Besigye who is currently on remand at Luzira prison after he was charged with treason.
The party spokesperson Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda told the media that Dr Besigye’s spirit is ‘high, unwavering and committed to the party cause’.
Mr Ssemujju also called upon all FDC leaders and members to visit Dr Besigye in prison and whener he appears in court.

Police spokesperson Fred Enanga last week told journalists that the Force were not holding any FDC members but “thugs”.
He said they arrested 80 at the swearing-in ceremony at Kololo, 50 on Jinja Road and others from a show at Uganda Manufacturing Association.
