King Mumbere's mother storms police station over his arrest

The mother of the imprisoned Rwenzururu King Charles Wesley Mumbere on Wednesday stormed Rwenzori East Regional Police station, seeking permission to manage the king’s farm.
Ms Christine Nyamukama Mukiranya, accompanied by Kasese Municipality Mayor Godfrey Kabbyanga, met with senior police officers led by police spokesperson, Mr Andrew Felix Kaweesi to seek permission to manage the king’s estates.
“There were some goats and cows that were roaming in the palace. We had gone to seek permission from the police to hand them over to the Nyamukama and police have already done that,” Mr Kabbyanga said.
A source that attended the meeting said Ms Mukiranya appealed for peace and dialogue between government, the Rwenzururu kingdom and King Mumbere.
