The King of Busoga, William Wilberforce Kadhumbula Nadiope Gabula IV, has called for peaceful coexistence between all tribes and religious groupings in Busoga, saying it is the only way through which the region can unite for development.

“If we work together we can restore Busoga’s glory, but that can only be achieved if there is peaceful coexistence. Do not segregate against people on religious and tribal lines because we are interested in developing Busoga and Uganda,” he said.

The Kyabazinga made the call on Monday evening while speaking at his palace on Igenge hill where he hosted the Muslim community to the first ever Royal Iftar Dinner.

“This is a vote of confidence in the Muslim community and in the individual Muslims that you have chosen to serve Busoga at this very critical time and stage in the history of Busoga and Uganda. I would like to say we are fully committed to not only repaying you for the vote of confidence, but also to the cause of making Busoga a much better place,” Mr Noor, said.
