Leaders call for tougher penalties

Rwampara County Member of Parliament Vincent Mujuni Kyamadidi has called upon the Judiciary to effectively use their discretionary powers to punish corrupt officials.
Speaking at the annual general meeting for Mwizi Saving and Credit Cooperative (Saaco) at Mwizi Health Centre IV in Rwampara on Saturday, Mr Kyamadidi said leaders should ensure that government projects and programmes were not sabotaged by corruption.
“The NRM government was elected into leadership and mandated with the social contract and responsibility to provide services and create jobs. All the projects and programme being implemented such as UPE, USE, improvement of health must be free of corruption,” Mr Kyamadidi said.
