MBARARA- Mbarara District Woman Member of Parliament has warned girls to be very careful while interacting on Facebook and other internet social media sites because there are some unscrupulous men with criminal motives.
Ms Emma Boona gave the warning last Friday at the commissioning of 400 participants, including students, who completed a two-week computer training course facilitated by the Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) at Ntare School.
“Some girls have been raped, killed and fallen into other traps because of responding and acting on information from men they meet on Facebook. Don’t give strange people any opportunity,” she said.
Ms Boona urged students to utilise the Internet for studies-related research so as to be able to excel in academics.
