Minister of Ethics and Integrity, Rev Fr Simon Lokodo has vowed to crack the whip on prostitution and pornography.

Speaking to the journalists at the Uganda Media Center on Friday, Mr Lokodo said that police and Ministry of Ethics have formed a squad to arrest prostitutes, their clients and those that procure them (pimps).

"The practice of prostitution wasn't accepted as it is now. I am very saddened to see that we have accepted to live with evil" Lokodo said.

Adding that: "The police and ministry of Ethics have formed a squad to arrest prostitutes, more focus will be put on those who procure them. It is painful that people in high position and law enforcers procure prostitutes, but the law will catch them too."

Lokodo also announced that 49 people have so far been arrested since last night and are held at Kibuli police over related offences.

He further noted that those that own property where prostitutes operate from will have their premises closed.

"I have also written to NTV Uganda and Bukedde TV about their shows "be my date" and "abanoonya" respectively, that matchmaking is not good, its a form of prostitution" He stressed

On Pornography and leaked nude pictures, Fr Lokodo said that a software is to be used to monitor gadgets like phones to determine the source of pornography.
