Low turn up as FDC prayers for upcoming presidential elections start

  • The acting party president, Ms Alice Alaso says that the prayers are organized to ensure a smooth running of the party presidential elections slated for November 24 at Namboole stadium.

Special prayers for the candidates contesting for the Opposition Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) party presidency are underway at the party headquarters in Najjanakumbi amidst low turn up by both expected top leaders and members.

Pastor David Ngabo, is leading the prayers with the help of other Muslim clerics.

However, out of the four party presidential candidates who were expected to attend the special prayers,only Daniel Matsiko has turned up.

The acting party president, Ms Alice Alaso says that the prayers are organized to ensure a smooth running of the party presidential elections slated for November 24 at Namboole stadium.

Other three candidates in the race include Gen Mugisha Muntu, Mr Moses Byamugisha and Mr Patrick Amuriat.

Over 1,200 delegates have been endorsed to participate in the electoral exercise.
