"To me, am still the Lord Mayor of KCCA and a Muganda by tribe, But its not fair for a person to call off a function because am present. Its shameful on the side of the Executive Director for what they have done." Lukwago said.

Trouble and commotion ensued this morning at the commissioning of the Kabakanjagala road in Mengo, after embattled Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago showed up, apparently uninvited.

The commissioning was supposed to be done by Kampala City Council Authority ED Jennifer Musisi who was slated to arrive at 10:30am. However, Erias Lukwago showed up earlier (10:00am) with a group of councillors and paralysed the function leading to it being called off.

This however, did not stop Lukwago from taking over the function and going forward to commission the road with out the rest of the councillors who had chosen to leave the premises at his arrival, Jennifer Musisi, and the Buganda Premier Charles Peter Mayiga.

"To me, am still the Lord Mayor of KCCA and a Muganda by tribe, But its not fair for a person to call off a function because am present. Its shameful on the side of the Executive Director for what they have done." Lukwago said.

"What did i do to deserve this treatment? I am simply performing my duties as the lord mayor, they should apologize to the Katiikiro and Buganda." He added, before going ahead to commission the road.

Sources also reveal that Jennifer Musisi and the Buganda premier revoked their attendance for the commissioning as soon as they learned of Erias Lukwago's presence.
