KAMPALA- The High Court in Kampala is today expected to commence hearing the case in which the Lord Mayor, Mr Erias Lukwago, is seeking to overturn the Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) tribunal report.

The report found him guilty of abuse of office, incompetence and misconduct.

The application will be heard before Justice Yasin Nyanzi, who earlier gave Mr Lukwago a lease of life after validating the interim injunction that had been issued by the court registrar, Mr Fred Waninda to stay proceedings of the Lord Mayor’s impeachment until when the main application is disposed of.

In his affidavit, Mr Lukwago claims the Justice Catherine Bamugemereire tribunal exhibited bias before and throughout the hearing.

He also accuses the tribunal of having acted in excess of its jurisdiction and with error of law when they relied on the Anti-Corruption Act in some incidents thus subjecting him to realms of criminal law as opposed to administrative law.
