PARLIAMENT.

The first deputy Prime Minister and leader of Government business Gen Moses Ali, has told Parliament that Kyadondo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi was found with a gun, and will be charged before the Army Court Martial in Gulu.

Gen Ali told Parliament that Kyagulanyi was flown to Gulu hospital where he is receiving treatment, he also clarified that the other 3 MPs will appear before the Chief Magistrate tomorrow in Gulu.

Gen. Ali also told Parliament that the total number of those arrested is 33.

Gen. Ali's statement came a few hours after Speaker Rebecca Kadaga suspended the house and ordered Moses Ali to gather more information on the whereabouts of the MPs.

The MPs Paul Mwiru, Gerald Karuhanga, Francis Zaake, and Kyagulanyi Robert aka Bobi Wine, were arrested in Arua during Monday's chaos and it was not clear where they were. However Police at Gulu Police station revealed that the MPs apart from Kyagulanyi were being detained at the police station.

The MPs were in Arua to campaign for opposition-leaning MP Kassiano Wadri, and in the chaos that ensued, President Museveni said, the car that carries his luggage was stoned. MP Robert Kyagulanyi's driver Yasin Kawuma was shot dead.

Kassiano is in the race to become Arua Municipality MP, where he is competing with 11 other candidates.

Parliament has nominated MPs Jovah Kamateka, Baryayanga Aja, Amule Ruth, Allan Ssewanyana, and Medard Ssegona to attend the Court Martial in Gulu on Thursday to hear the case of MPs arrested in relation to the insecurity in Arua.
They will also be at Gulu Magistrates court where the other MPs will be charged.
