What you need to know:

The apology comes after the electorate in Butaleja demanded her to do so.

Butaleja- Butaleja District Woman MP Florence Andiru Nebanda has apologised to her electorate over a fight she was involved in at National Leadership Institute in Kyankwanzi last month.

Ms Nebanda made the apology while appearing on a talk show at Step, a local TV station, last Saturday.

She was remorseful over her action with her counterpart Ruth Nankabirwa, the Kyankwanzi District Woman MP.

“We need to respect each other as legislators. No one should undermine the other whether such a person is lame or not,” she said.

The fight between the two legislators erupted after Ms Nankabirwa displaced Ms Nebanda from a bed the latter had occupied for three days at the NRM retreat in Kyankwanzi last month.

It is also reported that Ms Nebanda’s belongings were folded and thrown out of the room which was later assigned to Ms Jenipher Nantume Egunyu, the Woman MP for Buvuma District, on the instructions of Ms Nankabirwa, the host MP.

Ms Nebanda’s apology follows a demand by her electorate that she apologises through the media over her actions.
