MP Wamai’s wife dies after motor accident in Canada

Elizabeth Beatrice Wamanga died at Ottawa hospital in Canada following a motor accident.

The wife to Mbale Municipality Member of Parliament, Mr Jack Wamanga Wamai has died.

Elizabeth Beatrice Wamanga, 52 died on Monday at Ottawa hospital in Canada, where she had been admitted after she got involved in a car accident.

When contacted, Mr Wamai said, “My beloved wife died at the hospital where she had been admitted after she got involved in accident while on official duty.”

He explained that his wife sustained serious head injuries, which led to her death.

Mr Wamai describing his wife as honest, hardworking and God fearing, said she has died at the time, they needed her most as a family.

“She was hardworking, disciplined and religious. She also supported and respected everyone regardless of the age,” he said.

He said the wife was working with the High Commission in Canada.

The couple has two children, both boys. Mr Wamanga said they are making preparations to bring back the body for burial.

She will be buried at Bukyabi village, Budadiri in Sironko District.
