Earlier, the police had fired teargas to disperse the supporters of the expelled MPs who were celebrating the supreme court ruling around the same area. Two police men were injured in the process.

Police has arrested MPs Theodore Ssekikubo, Muhamad Nsereko and Muwanga Kivumbi. The three legislators are currently held at Old kampala police Station, yet to be charged.

Ssekikubo and colleagues were intercepted by the police as they made their way through Kiseka Market to Parkyard, allegedly to attend the Buganda Kingdom fundraising drive.

The supreme court this morning ruled that the expelled MPs be allowed back in parliament until their main application is heard by the same court, and orders to stop any further actions to expel them by the speaker of parliament were given to that effect.
