Man arrested for killing brother over cheating with his wife

Police in Kibaale District are holding a 27-year-old man for allegedly killing his young brother after he caught him sleeping with his wife.

The suspect who is a resident of Kijangi village in Kijangi Sub County, Kakumiro District allegedly killed Ndyanabo Kunihira, a resident of the same area.
Police at Kyebando police post said the suspect who has been on the run was on Monday found Nyakatete swamp where he had hidden.
The area LCI chairman, Mr Parasikazio Enserikora told this reporter that trouble started when the suspect left his wife at home and reported to his causal work only to be told by his mother that his young brother was sleeping with his wife in his house.

He told police that upon returning home, he found his brother having sex with his wife on their marital bed.
‘‘When he found them sleeping, he tried to ask his brother what he was doing with his wife in bed. Instead of running away or asking for forgiveness, the deceased started boasting of how he had taken over the wife and dared his elder brother to do anything to stop him,’’ Mr Ensirikora narrated.

Their mother, Ms Mangadalena Buhinjja said that she reported the matter to his elder son without knowing that it would be fatal.

‘‘When I told him, he came and started quarrelling with the deceased and few minutes later he picked up a panga in rage and started cutting him several times in the head, hands and the lower abdomen,’’ Ms Buhinjja said.
Kijangi Sub County acting LCIII Chairman, Mr Gerald Mutesitesi said that Kunihira was rushed to JB Clinic in Rusorera Township where he was shortly pronounced dead.

The cheating woman was also arrested and detained at Rusorera police post.

This is the fifth murder case to be recorded in greater Kibaale districts of Kagadi, Kibaale and Kakumiro in a space of five days.

Kakumiro District Police Commander, Mr Hassan Katumba confirmed the arrest of the suspect.

Meanwhile residents of Kibande Village, Kibijjo parish Nkooko Sub County in Kakumiro district woke up to shock after another man beheaded his wife over suspected domestic misunderstandings.

It is alleged that the suspect, a resident of the same area who is reportedly on the run killed his wife Margret Kasundara on Sunday night after developing misunderstandings.
Authorities say he used a sharp object to slit his wife’s throat.
