Man killed over suspected love affair

According to Police, the post-mortem report indicates that the cause of the death as blunt force trauma.

  • Investigations further indicate that the deceased was murdered in David Wabwire’s home and then body taken and hanged using the belt of the deceased in the abandoned grass thatched house believed to be for Dan Bogere.

Police in Busia District have arrested six people including LC1 chairperson on allegations of killing their colleague whom they suspected was having a secret love affair with neighbour’s wife.

It is reported that Jackson Wodenya, 39, a resident of Buwanga “B” village, Buyanga Sub-County in Busia District was attacked by angry mob who killed him on spot.

The suspected killers were arrested by police after a tip off from locals.
The Bukedi Region Police Spokesperson, Mr Sowali Kamulya, confirmed the incident and said investigations are ongoing.

He identified the suspects as Francis Wejuli, 66, the LC1 Chairperson of the same village, Rogers Wafula, 41 and Patrick Wekesa, 50.

Others include; Kefa Wafula kefa, 38, Patrick Omegere and Charles Bwire, 40, all residents Buwanga “B” village, Buyanga sub-county in Busia District. He said more two suspects are still at large.

“We have six people in custody for killing their colleague as investigations continues. And we are hunting for the two other suspects,” said Mr kaumlya, adding that the suspects will be charged accordingly after investigations.
