Man suspected to have murdered girlfriend arrested by Interpol in Nairobi

A man, who is suspected to have murdered his girlfriend last year in Kampala and went into hiding in Kenya has been arrested by Interpol & handed over to Uganda.

The suspect was on Tuesday arrested in Kenya on accusations of murdering his girlfriend Josephine Nambogo early this year.
He is currently being detained at Katwe Police Station and will appear in Court any time.

“He will appear in Court any time soon and is likely to be charged with murder,” said the Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson, Patrick Onyango.

Onyango said the suspect was arrested by Interpol in Kenya and handed over to Ugandan authorities.

“Interpol Uganda requested their Kenyan counter to trace for and arrest the suspect for the alleged crime he committed in Kampala,” added Onyango.

After the alleged crime and escape to Kenya, the suspect posted on his Facebook wall: “I know we are going be together soon because I have nothing more left, for I pray that our babies find peace and Joy in this world. I love you.”

Ms Nambogo was the mother of the suspect’s two kids.
The arrest is a huge relief to Ms Nambogo’s relatives who have been eagerly awaiting justice for Nambogo’s tragic death.
