KAMPALA- Medical examination has confirmed that city businessman Eria Sebunnya Bugembe aka Kasiwukira, who was killed on Friday morning, was hit by a car.

A post-mortem report on Kasiwukira’s body says his liver was ruptured, both the ribs and spinal cord were broken and he had internal and external injuries.
“He was hit by a moving object which forced him to fall down,” a medical report read in part.

Kasiwukira was knocked by a vehicle in Muyenga, Kampala suburb, as he was jogging on the roadside in the morning. The car sped off immediately after the incident.
The Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesman, Mr Patrick Onyango, did not deny or confirm the contents of the port-mortem but said a report had been made and the body handed over to the family.

“The port-mortem report was done. Its details can be given to you by the relatives,” Mr Onyango said yesterday.

On Friday, there were conflicting reports on the possible cause of Kasiwukira’s death. Some people claimed he was hit by an iron bar and the killers used the car only to escape while others said he was intentionally knocked by a car driver who had waited for him for some time at the road connecting to his home.
Police are still hunting the vehicle and the driver. By the time we went to press, no arrest had been made.

Mr Phillip Kayongo, who claims to have been the first person at the scene of the accident, said: “The deceased’s body lay by the roadside. Blood was oozing from the back of his head. His phone together with its Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) card, removed out of the phone, thrown just a few metres from the body.”
Mr Sebunnya is one of the first professional music promoters in the country. He helped the famous Eagles Productions (now disbanded) to rise to fame.

He also owned a tiles factory in Najjanankumbi on Entebbe Road and a string of other properties in the city.
