Kampala. More than 640, 000 pupils who last year sat for Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE) will know their fate today, according to the Ministry of Education.
Mr Patrick Muinda, the ministry’s communication officer, confirmed to Daily Monitor on Thursday that they will be releasing the results at President’s Office in Kampala at 11am. “The Minister of Education has been briefed today (yesterday) by the officials from Uganda National Examinations Board (Uneb). She will release the 2017 PLE results tomorrow (today) and the candidates can access the results through SMS thereafter,” Mr Muinda said.
A total of 646,080 candidates registered with Uneb to sit their two-day examinations from 12,751 centres in November.

UPE candidates
Of these, 466,235 were from schools implementing government’s free education programme under the Universal Primary Education (UPE), while 179,845 pupils did their exams from non-UPE schools.
There were more female candidates (333,495) of the total number of candidates who were expected to sit the national examinations; which crowns end of a seven year-cycle.
