Hard work, not miracles will get Ugandans out of poverty, says Museveni

Mr Museveni applauded the Agaru Saccos for its initiative in poverty alleviation in the region.

Pader- President Museveni has called upon residents of Pader District to work hard to get out of poverty.

Speaking during the annual general meeting of Agaru Savings and Credit Cooperative Society in Pader District at the weekend, President Museveni noted that people cannot get out of poverty through miracles.

“Me, I get back to Genesis when Adam and Eve were sent out of Eden and they had to toil and fend for themselves. Whatever you eat should be out of your struggle and hard work,” the President said.
He gave Shs50 million to the Agaru Sacco.

Mr Museveni applauded the Agaru Saccos for its initiative in poverty alleviation in the region.
“Thanks for implementing the Prosperity For All programme that was initiated in 1995. It is my prayers that you carry it on and eradicate poverty at the house hold level,” President Museveni said.
