KAMPALA: Makerere University Business School (Mubs) will begin teaching Chinese Courses, including marketing and hospitality in the Faculty of Management in the next academic year.
This will be implemented under a collaborative engagement which was signed between Mubs and Shenyang University International Education Exchange Centre.
Ms Li Luping, the Shenyang University International Education Exchange Centre vice president, during a visit at Mubs in Nakawa yesterday said the collaboration will help Ugandans to get introduced to useful Chinese courses as well as improving the country’s education system.
China has in the last three decades become a big player in the global economy, which makes its entry into Uganda’s education sector timely.
Dr Moses Muhwezi, the Mubs acting deputy principal, said the programme targets Ugandans with business interests in China as well as introducing the country to one of the world’s biggest economies.
The initiative will involve exchange of staff, student internships as well as teaching Chinese business culture and research.
