Museveni to win next presidential race, says pastor

JINJA- President Museveni has asked religious leaders to pray for peace in the country, adding that security is everyone’s responsibility.

In a speech read for him in Jinja by the State House comptroller, Ms Lucy Nakyobe, during celebrations to mark the anniversary for World Revival Centre Church, on Sunday, Mr Museveni  urged church leaders to preach reconciliation which he said will strengthen harmony in the country.

“Bringing security in the country should be everyone’s responsibility. For security of this country, everyone should be vigilant by reporting anything suspicious in your area,’’ Mr Museveni said.

“Time for sleeping is over; everybody should wake up and embrace government programmes like Operation Wealth Creation and the Youth Livelihood Programme that will enable you to develop,’’ Mr Museveni said.

He donated Shs30million to facilitate the Church’s growth programme.

Pastor Tom Ngobi, the overseer of the church thanked Mr Museveni for his continued association with church leaders “who are nearer to God”.

With the presidential elections three years ahead, Pastor Ngobi predicted that Mr Museveni would “automatically” win the next elections "if he is willing to contest" because "he puts God first in his life and respects God’s representatives who are the church leaders".

“I have no doubt President Museveni will automatically win the next election because he respects God the controller of everything compared to his political opponents who are always just looking at us as mushrooming churches without any value to society,’’ Pastor Ngobi said.

Mr Paul Mwiru, the Jinja East Member of Parliament, who contested on the Opposition Forum for Democratic Change ticket,  said God who helped him win the by-election, can help Mr Museveni win the next presidential poll since everything is determined by God, whom he respects.
