Bukwo Woman Member of Parliament, Evelyn Chemutai may be receiving the heat from her party, the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) for voting against the bill to remove the presidential age limit but her supporters think otherwise.

Ms Chemutai’s supporters on Thursday gave her a heroine’s welcome at her homecoming in Bukwo.

Bodaboda riders were there to meet her from the neighbouring district of Kapchorwa District.
The procession sometimes became more electrified as she got out of her vehicle and walked.
Ms Chemutai who is among the 27 ruling NRM party members who voted against the lifting of the presidential age limit criticised other ruling party MPs whom she says voted against the will of their constituents.

The ruling party is yet to formally invite the 27 MPs before a disciplinary committee and Chemutai says her resolve will not be shaken.
Ms Chemutai’s supporters also insist they will stand with her should she seek re-election on a different ticket after this term in Parliament.
