Friends and family of former NTV journalist Resty Namawejje yesterday afternoon could not hold back their tears at a requiem mass held at St Gaviira Catholic Parish in Bunnamwaya.
Mr Micheal Mukwaya, an uncle of the deceased, eulogsed her as one who loved people and her family members, including her grandparents.
“She was greatly involved in family meetings and other activities. She will surely be missed,” said the inconsolable uncle.
Ms Robinah Nambooze (Robin Kisti) her co-producer of the weekly LogIn programme on NTV, said she last talked to Namawejje on Tuesday when she had just finished working on her production.
Ms Nambooze added that she was a hard working lady who was committed to her work as she tried to master the art of production.
Burial will take place today at 2pm at her ancestral home in Abayita-Ababiri on Entebbe Road in a place called Kabale.
Some of those who survived the accident but were critically injured are still admitted to Mulago and Mengo hospitals.
On July 4, Namawejje was one of three women that perished in the deadly motor accident on Masaka Road at Nakirere, Mpigi District. The accident is the second in a space of four days since another claimed at least three lives when seven vehicles run into one another last Wednesday.
Police attributed the cause of the accident to speeding.
