Minister Nadduli to bishops: Stop fighting other believers

Namugongo: Minister without portfolio Al-hajji Abdu Nadduli has called on Christian believers to unit and stop fighting themselves.
Minister Nadduli who is also the NRM senior member and the vice president of the Muslim council, called for unity saying there are different churches but with people praising one God.

“All Catholics from Rome and Orthodox, Muslims, Anglicans and those from Pentecostal churches are sons and daughters of Abraham so I encourage all of you to live in harmony,” said Nadduli.
Mr Nadduli added that article 27 of the Uganda’s constitution gives freedom of worship to all Ugandans and said no one should attack the other believers.

“I don’t support people who attack others because of religion, but I only advise them to leave that to God because each person will carry his or her own cross on judgment day,” he added.

Bishop-elect Kibuuka said the bishop’s meeting is also meant for the reflection on the clerics’ personal lives and see whether they have lived according the will of God as church leaders.

“We’re using this meeting to share ideas with bishops from different countries and also look for the ways of how we can help our church to develop and leave people who bring wars to our church and focus on development. We’re going to start building more churches and expand our areas of operation countrywide to help our believers not to walk long distances looking for our churches” said Kibuuka.

He added the conference will also focus on starting up financial services like microfinance groups to help Christians who are still in need of money start small businesses using the available capital which will help to close the unemployment gap among Christians.
The presiding Bishop of Orthodox church in Uganda, Tom Kiiza, thanked the government and president Museveni for the support they have given their church as they continue to expand their wings in the country.

He said more than 20 bishops are to attend the consecration ceremony. They include; Bishop Martin Kiprotic and Bishop Albert Odul Nyanje from Kenya, Bishop Jean Ndjemel from Cameroon and bishops from India, DR Congo, Tanzania, Cananda among other countries.
