Namilyango College Old Boys will this Sunday launch a Savings and Credit Co-operative (Sacco), according to Mr Fred Gyavira, the Namilyango College Old Boys Association (Nacoba) vice president.
The school’s old boys will also convene for the Annual General Meeting (AGM) and to cap a year of various accomplishments.
The election of a new executive for Nacoba to replace the outgoing executive, which has served out its four year tenure is also expected to be on the agenda.
Mr Matthias Nalyanya’s term of office as Nacoba President has seen a number of restorations at the school’s campus and also made great strides to court old boys into active participation in the association.
“We are meeting to review our activities as old boys and the performance of the college,” Mr Gyavira, said.
“We will identify areas where we can support the college to improve academic performance and infrastructure so we can build a better environment for the current students.”
The association has over the last two years renovated the college main hall, repairing its leaking roof and also expanded the sick bay. It also launched an annual sports gala which brings together old boys and their families.
Andrew Bazanye, Nacoba publicity secretary, says the day will start with mass in the college chapel at 9 AM. The general meeting will follow, with a luncheon coming after.
