Nigerian nationals arrested at Entebbe Airport with Shs3bn narcotics

  • According to Mr Kayima, the duo claimed that they came to Uganda to attend their son’s/brother’s introduction ceremony which took place last week.

ENTEBBE: Police at Entebbe International airport have arrested two Nigerian women for allegedly being in possession of 10kgs of heroine estimated at Shs3 billion as they tried to leave the country for Lagos, Nigeria.

Kampala metropolitan police spokesperson, Mr Emilian Kayima while parading the suspects told journalists that the two women are family members.
“The duo arrived in the country on the November 20, this year. Ms Aniugo Agnes Egonna, 76 and her daughter Ms Aniugo Gloria Vera, 35, were intercepted on November 25 at the airport. Ms Vera had 5kgs of heroin worth Shs1.565 billion and the mother also had 5kgs worth Shs1.565 billion that they had concealed in their luggage bags,” said Mr Kayima.
