For Buganda Kingdom to regain her glory, its population must strive towards quality lifestyle, the Nnabagereka has said.
Ms Sylvia Nagginda said couples should produce children for whom they can provide necessities such as food, shelter, medical services and education.

“Buganda needs a quality population where children access good education, health services and feed well. This is the avenue to have Buganda regain it past glory,” Ms Nagginda told residents at Kako Church of Uganda in Masaka District on Wednesday.

“Men should get involved in reproductive health. As women go for cervical cancer testing, men should also check for prostate cancer,” she added. The Nnabagereka noted that Masaka, once the country’s food basket, is one of the districts leading in stunted children.

Masaka District medical officer Stewart Musisi partly attributed the problem partly to pregnant women shunning antenatal services.
“There is also rampant child pregnancies and about 20 per cent of women who die due to birth complications are girls below 18 years.”
