Lying? The NRM deputy SG said the Opposition were busy telling lies to the people in Busia

Busia. As campaigns for the by elections for the Busia District chairperson hot up, Mr Richard Todwong, the deputy Secretary General of the ruling National Resistance movement (NRM) has compared the Opposition alliance to Panadol, the tablet which only relieves pain but cannot cure the disease.
He said the Opposition were busy telling lies to the people in Busia that they had solutions to their problems when they know they do not have any redress. “The Opposition members are just like Panadol tablets which only reduces the pain but without curing the disease. They are liars and they know it is the ruling party that has solutions to the problems affecting people in Busia,” Mr Todwong told voters at rallies in Buyanga Sub-county. Mr Todwong, who is the minister without portfolio, responsible for Political Mobilisation, urged Busia voters to support the NRM candidate Stephen Wanyama Oundo.
The by-election arises from the removal of former district chairperson Ouma Adea by High Court for abuse of office. Mr Oundo is battling with the Opposition candidate Deo Njoki Hasubi for the district top seat.
Voting is slated for January 22.
Mr Oundo urged residents to vote him to office so that he could rehabilitate the roads, build more classroom blocks and unite the district council.
