Four schools in Luweero got their 2013 Primary Leaving Examination papers late following a mix up at the different exam storage stations.
The Luweero District Education Officer Florence Ssekitoleko Bbosa says exam papers for St Mary's Kakinzi, St Joseph Ndibulungi, and Nalongo C/U primary schools had been transported to a storage station far from the schools.
"The affected schools were forced to begin their respective exams late because the papers had been transported to a different storage station. The mix up was not realised in time but the affected schools have now received their papers," Ms Bbosa told Daily Monitor.
At St Joseph Ndibulungi P/S the papers were again delayed for an hour after the motorcycle on which they were being transported broke down.
"We managed to send a vehicle to deliver the examination papers for the [St Joseph Ndibulungi] candidates," Ms Bbosa said
Luweero District previously had two Uganda National Examination Bureau storage stations located at police stations. This year, however, Uneb has introduced two more exam storage centers to ease exam transportation.
