Kampala.
Two Pakistani men who are charged with domestic violence and having sex with a person against the order of nature have been returned to prison after their lawyer did not turn up for their bail application.

Mr Ahamad Shahbaz and Mr Muhammad Wagas appeared before the Chief Magistrate at Buganda Road Court for bail application yesterday.
Magistrate Lillian Buchana adjourned the matter to May 16 for mention and hearing of their application.

Her decision was prompted by the State lawyer, Ms Lillian Omara, who asked for an adjournment citing that the accused person’s lawyer was absent.
“The accused person’s lawyer is not in court. We seek for another date of mention and set the time for the hearing and identify our witnesses,” Ms Omara said.

Last month the Director of Public Prosecutions dropped charges of rape against the duo who had been previously indicted of gang-raping and sodomising a 23-year-old woman in Kampala.

They were instead handed lighter charges of domestic violence and having sex with a person against the order of nature.
