Police boss asks residents to vote Museveni

Mukono- Kampala Metropolitan East regional police commander Siraje Bakaleke has urged residents of Mukono District to vote President Museveni in the 2016 presidential elections because he is the only one who can ensure peace and stability in the country.

Despite being a serving police officer, who is not supposed to engage in partisan politics, Mr Bakaleke said Ugandans should stop thinking the stability they are enjoying today came by chance.

He was speaking as chief guest during the speech day for St Frances Education Centre in Nama Sub-county, Mukono District at the weekend.

“Some of you think that peace and stability of Ugandans is a joke. In countries like Iraq, Libya and Israel people die every day,” he said adding, “We shall not allow the Besigyes to destabilise this county.”

“Vote President Museveni in 2016 so that the country continues to enjoy peace,” Mr Bakaleke said.

The RPC cautioned residents against engaging in protests such as Walk-to-work, advising them to instead utiilise the peace to engage in income generating activities.

He asked them to be vigilant and ensure neighbourhood watch as the festive season approaches since thugs go on rampage during this period.

Mr Bakaleke expressed dismay over the high case of child abuse in the district and asked local leaders to report culprits to relevant authorities so that they are prosecuted in courts of law.

Former Mukono Resident District Commissioner Tom Fisher Kasenge urged parents to invest in their children’s education saying it is the only way the area would achieve development. He disclosed his intentions to contest for the Mukono District chairperson seat in 2016.
