Police has refuted reports that the Inspector General of Police Gen Kale Kayihura was dismissed from the force and replaced by Brig Leopold Kyanda as police chief.
Mr Enanga dismissed the allegations as cheap talk intended to cause panic in the police force and also tarnish Gen Kayihura’s name
He explained that Gen Kayihura’s contract still has two more years to expire.

He further explained that Gen Kayihura is still the recognized police chief and that the police force was happy with his leadership.
“Nowadays every crap is posted on social media by people with hidden agendas. We know there those who would wish to see him (Gen Kayihura) leave the police. But the public should know that his contract is yet to expire,” Mr Enanga said.

A local tabloid on Monday reported that President Yoweri Museveni was planning an extensive security shake up that would see the current police chief replaced by Brig Leopold Kyanda.
Mr Kyanda is said to have pleased the president with the way he handled election deployments across the county and is among the officers lined up for promotion to the rank of Major General before Mr Museveni takes oath for the fifth term.
