Kampala.
Police have released names of people they suspect to be terrorists and could attempt to enter the country to carry out terror attacks.
Police spokesman Fred Enanga said all units of the armed forces have been informed of the nine suspects.

“The counter terrorism directorate has intelligence listing names of suspected terrorists of Somali origin planning to enter Uganda and carry out attacks,” Mr Enanga said.

Since the attacks in Kenya by armed men, Uganda security forces have tightened their grips to ensure that Ugandans aren’t killed.
The alert is said to be one of the fruits of Uganda police’s cooperation with Somali’s National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA).

The Uganda police radio message on the nine suspects reads: “All border points, territorial police units, and all networks of counter terrorism mobile teams, crime preventers and informants are instructed to be on the lookout for persons carrying the names listed below and verify their documents that include passports, identity cards, Visa cards and other forms of financial transaction”.

The message adds, “If seen arrest, detain and inform the Directorate of counter terrorism for collection through the following toll free lines 0800199399/0800199699”.
