KAMPALA. Police in Kampala are investigating the suspicious death of three people in Rubaga Division, Kampala.
Acting Kampala metropolitan police spokesperson, Luke Owoyesigyire, said three people were found dead in a suspicious manner in Natete, Mutundwe and Nalukolongo villages.

Mr Owoyesigyire identified one of the deceased as Michael Bwanika, 25 and resident of Kitawuluzi zone in Mutundwe. Some locals claimed he committed suicide whereas others said he had been murdered by unknown people.
“Bwanika was found hanging on a tree and there were contradicting reports. Some locals said he hanged himself whereas others insisted there was foul play in his death. We shall confirm the cause of his death after the postmortem,” Mr Owoyesigyire said.
Abdul Nkalubo, 33 was found lying dead at Nalukolongo railways. Locals told police that Nkalubo who was a casual labourer collapsed as he walked to his work station in Ndeeba.

“There was no sign of attack or resistance at the scene. Eye witnesses said he collapsed and died. As police we recorded the locals’ accounts but we shall conclude after postmortem results,” Mr Owoyesigyire said.
Police are also investigating the death of a man only identified as Sam who was reportedly found dead in his house. Police dismissed the neighbours’ narrative that he had been sick for two days after it was established that the area chairman had hired a vehicle to transport his body for burial at public cemetery before police could arrive.

“This man was a shamba boy at one of the homes in Natete. The woman in the home called the LC1 chairman and they wanted to bury the body immediately. This was suspicious and we have arrested the woman,” Mr Owoyesigyire said.
By press time police had taken the bodies to Mulago hospital for postmortem as inquiries into the trio’s death continue. Mr Owoyesigyire warned the public against tampering with scenes of crime.
