Kabale. Hundreds of Kabale residents on Thursday joined the police officers in the clean-up exercise of Kabale Town as part of the Police Week celebration activities.
This coincided with the launch of Keep Kabale Clean, an event organised by the municipal authorities aimed at involving residents in cleaning the town. The Kigezi deputy regional police commander, Mr Enock Ndyomugyenyi, and the Kabale District police commander, Mr Dickens Bindeeba, were joined by the Mayor Kabale Municipality, Mr Byamugisha Sentaro, and councillors, school children, non-government organisations, and members of the community to celebrate the day.

“During this week, we shall demonstrate the procedure of reporting issues, teach about crime prevention and also educate people on the duty of every police department,” Mr Ndyomugyenyi said.
Recently, the central government funded the tarmacking of the Kabale Main Road, fitted it with night street lights, garbage collecting skips and potted flowers as part of beautifying the town.

Resolution
“The government has played its role in beautifying our town. We shall put by-laws to prosecute any person found littering the town,” Mr Byamugisha said, adding that the clean-up exercise will be made compulsory for all residents of Kabale Town, with every last Thursday of the month being scheduled for the exercise.
