Police surround FDC tally centre, teargas supporters

NAJJANANKUMBI- Dr Kizza Besigye, Gen Mugisha Muntu the FDC party president and party chairman Wasswa Biriggwa as well as Ingrid Turinawe, a party activist have been picked from a meeting at the party headquarters by police.

The FDC top leaders have been taken to an unknown place.Police have sealed off Entebbe Road where the party's head office is located.

Earlier, riot police personnel on Friday had ringed off the party’s tally centre at its Najjanankumbi headquarters on demanding that Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) officials call off a planned press conference.

The officials declined to budge, prompting police to lob teargas canisters at the party supporters gathered at the gate. Some managed to dash inside the party premises. Police drenched the unrelenting party followers, and the walls of the office building, with blue-coloured water. Blue is the official FDC party colour.
