Police transports Mumbere to Kampala in chopper

Rwenzururu king Charles Wesley Mumbere has been airlifted to Kampala from Jinja District where hearing of his bail application took place.

Omusinga Mumbere granted bail

Mr Caleb Alaka, one of the defence lawyers of the king, informed the court presided over by Justice Micheal Elubu that in the spirit of reconciliation between the parties as mandated by the constitution, the state and king Mumbere’s lawyers have been holding talks

for the second time.


Mumbere was on Monday granted a non cash bail of Shs100 million. His five sureties were each bonded Shs100 million not cash.


However, it’s not clear why Mumbere was preferred to travel by air and not on road.
