Kampala.

Sam Omala, the Kampala Metropolitan police operations commander, has joined Dembe Fm. Mr Omala joins as the host of the morning show Twezimbe, which runs every Monday to Friday between 6am – 10 am. He reports to work today.

“We are glad to have Mr Omala as the host of our flagship show,” Mr Moses Katongole, the programmes controller, Dembe Fm, said. “Omala will bring maturity onto the show”, he added.
“I am very glad to be part of the Dembe Fm family. l have always wanted to be on radio and l thank God for this opportunity to show my other talent,” Mr Omala said.

On whether the radio job would affect his police job, Mr Omala says; “This will not in any way affect my police job, in fact, it is going to make it even easier because Dembe Fm is listened to by mostly young people who are always misled into riots. This time l have a platform to address them and dissuade them from riotous acts and crime generally.

Mr Omala is a senior Superintendent of police, who shot to prominence at the heat of the walk-to-work protests in 2011.
He teams up with Ruth Kalibala Bwanika, Shafiq Kaima and Mzee Muteweta.
