"Swabul [Mayanja] did not go for work because he had a day off, instead went out for Friday prayers at 10:00 am,” the mother of the 19-year-old young man told this newspaper, adding that: “He stayed out with his friends including J Hus [a British Rappers of Gambian origin commonly known for his 'Common Sense' Album], until up to nearly 10:00 pm.

When he came back, we talked about food and he suggested getting a fast-food meal.”
The mother further explained: “He [Mayanja] got the keys for his car on his way to the eatery. I understand on his way to the eatery, he gave a lift to his friends.”
“One of them [friends] fell sick and wanted to throw [vomit], she got out of the car and started gurgling,” says the mother. The mother added: “I am told that, whilst outside the car, the girl made some gurgling sound, which attracted Mayanja to follow and see what had happened. That’s when my son went out to check on his friend."
The mother further explained, that: "It was at this moment, when three [3] guys confronted him from his back and shot him."
The father of the deceased, Mr Ismael Musoke, who hails Ngondati-Bukoto distract interjected, saying: “One of the girls who had requested my son for a lift; claimed to be sick and she got out.

She has since disappeared.” “What we know that, three young boys, confronted my son and shot him from the back,” said Mr Musoke, adding that: “One of the three girls has since disappeared.”
This newspaper exclusively learnt that; two of the three girls have already been questioned by the Met Police, except one who feigned to be sick. Mayanja was killed with a single gun-shot, just 30 minutes after leaving the sight of his parents.

He was pronounced dead at 10:40 pm, yet he last had a face-to-face chat with the mother at 10:10 pm.
Our efforts to get any update were futile as the, Deputy Press Officer, Vanessa Edwards from Crown Prosecution Services (CPS), indicated to us that they haven't got any information; an indication that nobody has been charged for the murder. Normally, the CPS would be with the details if a suspect has been arrested and charged.

Instead, the CPS deputy press officer, Ms Edwards referred us to the Metropolitan. The officer at Met promised to get back to us for an update but by press time, we hadn't received any news of any arrest in this murder.
Separately, a security source who intimated to this newspaper, the forces treated this as Homicide incident.

The detectives from both the homicide and Major Crime Command who are now investigating the incident separately launched a general public appeal, for anyone with information to contact: +44 (0) 2087 214 005 or to anonymously give the information to the British crime stoppers on 0800 555 111. Mayanja becomes a second Uganda to be killed within a period of 2 months.

On June 6, 2017, another 38 - year - old, Ugandan, Derrick Mulondo, the then resident of Kingston was brutally murdered. For the alleged murder of Mulondo, the Met. Police charged 23-year-old Shauna Doyle and 45-year-old, Eric Wertzd, of Burritt Road Kingston and Comber Road New Malden respectively.
