Seeds of Gold wows readers

The sight of a cow draped with a banner trying to find its way in traffic is by all means an attraction to any reader.
That is what the marketing team at the Daily Monitor chose to do yesterday in order to get the attention of motorists.
This was during the promotion of the paper’s farming pullout, Seeds of Gold, which runs every Wednesday.
This promotion was done in two locations, Katwe, and GoldCourse off Yusuf Lule/Kitante Road, where girls handed early morning motorists copies of yesterday’s copy of the pullout and seeds.
“This is a good initiative. I will be turning into a farmer this evening with my family as we plant these seeds,” said David Mugabe, a motorist plying the Katwe route.
So far, the market reaction to the magazine is encouraging, as the marketing manager, Mr Aaron Aguma explained: “The responses we are getting through our interactions show that there has been a yearning for some quality information they can use for their personal and business benefit and this explains the reception.”
The product editor, Mr David Gumisiriza-Mwesigye, said the market has warmly welcomed the product, with a lot of positive feedback and advice on how to improve.
