Seven dead, scores injured in Kyenjojo bus accident

Seven people have been confirmed dead and at least 36 seriously injured following a bus accident in Rwibale, Kyenjojo District.
The accident occurred when a bus, Reg. No. UAJ 409T owned by Kalita Bus Company which was heading to Kabarole collided with a canter Reg. No. UAU 831Q which was carrying tea leaves.

Kyenjojo District Police Commander, Mr Martin Mbabazi blamed the canter driver saying he left his lane and entered the bus’ lane thereby causing the accident.

“Seven people died on spot. However, the number could be bigger because several people were rushed to different health facilities in critical conditions before we arrived,” said Mbabazi, adding that at least 36 were injured.
