Sheikh Musa Khelil injured in road accident

Acholi District Muslim Khadi Al Hajji Sheikh Musa Khelil, also the Vice Chairman, Acholi Religious Leaders Peace Initiative, has been involved in a road accident.
Sheikh Khelil is reported to have been knocked by a speeding taxi at about 8:30pm Friday evening near Karma Bar and Grill, a hangout joint in the heart of Gulu Municipality.

Aswa Region police spokesperson Jimmy Patrick Okema confirmed the incident in a telephone interview.
He said Sheikh Khelil was rushed to St Mary's Hospital Lacor for medical treatment.

Okema said Sheikh Khelil was from Jumiya Mosque and was heading home when the speeding vehicle knocked him and his rider, who wasn't identified by press time.
"I have just returned from the hospital, Sheikh is complaining of his left thigh that it may be broken. The doctors are making arrangements to take him for an X-ray to ascertain whether he has a broken femur," Okema said.

He said Sheikh Khelil's condition is stable.
Mr Okema said police have no details of the taxi vehicle that knocked the sheikh adding that they are conducting investigations.
