The singer from a musical family that comprises of three other prominent singing brothers namely Joseph Mayanja aka Jose Chameleone, Pius Mayanja aka Pallaso and Douglas Mayanja aka Weasle was pronounced dead shortly after his friends helped drop him at Nsambya hospital last night.
According to fellow singer Diamond Oscar who was with the deceased at Dejavu, a pub in Kansanga, AK47 died after falling in the bathrooms of the pub where he had gone to ease himself. "We were called by one of the bouncers who told us that our friend had fallen and collapsed in the wash rooms. We thought he had just collapsed, so we got off our shirts and started waving so that he could get some fresh air," Oscar said.
Oscar further said that a few minutes later, The youngest Mayanja was not responding at all and he was bleeding from the nose and the mouth; "a patron advised us to rush him to a nearby clinic. When we arrived at Rock pharmacy, the pharmacist advised us to rush the patient to Nsambya Hospital for xray and oxygen. The manager of Dejavu helped drive my car to Nsambya hospital. But all through the journey, i kept calling AK and asking him to say something, but he didn't. He was bleeding and he had foam coming from his mouth," Oscar added.
