Six year-old struck by lightning

A six year-old boy and pupil of Watuba Umea Primary School in Luweero District has been struck dead by lightening at Watuba village in Kikyusa Sub-county.

Mr Erimiya Kazibwe, a resident of Watuba village said the deceased was killed on the spot when lightning struck during a heavy down pour accompanied by a thunderstorm which left several gardens destroyed by the storm at Watuba village on April 24.
"The boy was playing with his friends when lightning struck. We could not believe the incident because the other friends escaped with no injuries. I believe the children should always be indoor during the rains,” Kazibwe told the Daily Monitor
