About 45 families in Nakaseke Sub-county have been displaced by a rainstorm which left more than 20 houses de-roofed and house property destroyed.
The storm also left several gardens destroyed at Namusaale, Gangu and Kasaga Villages.
According to Nakaseke South Member of Parliament Paul Lutamaguzi Ssemakula, the rainstorm destroyed banana and coffee plantations leaving more than 45 families without food among other essential basics.
“I have visited some of the affected areas to assess the damage caused by the storm. We appeal to the Disaster Ministry to consider these people for assistance. Many of the residents have lost the newly planted crops. We are fortunate that we didn’t register injuries and deaths because the storm lasted for more than 30 minutes,” Lutamaguzi told the Daily Monitor last weekend.
